Cliff Wright Motors
Our story

Half a century
of honest work.

Built in 1970, the Wright family workshop has grown alongside Armidale itself — three generations of mechanics, one address, one promise.

From the archive

Three generations,
one family.

From the original parts counter to family weekends, these snapshots tell the story of a workshop built around the people who run it.

  1. 1970

    The doors open

Cliff Wright founds the workshop at 149 Miller Street with one idea — a single garage that could fix, sell and service it all. The community takes notice quickly.

  2. 1980s

    A family trade

Cliff's four sons — Gary, Phil, Craig and Chris — join straight from school. The workshop adds battery services, used cars and a wrecking yard.

  3. 2010s

    The next chapter

Gary and Phil take the reins, expanding into scrap metal recycling, Natrad radiators and modern automotive service.

  4. Today

    Still local. Still family.

Thousands of customers a year, premium services at honest prices, and a workshop reputation built one job at a time.

The crew

The people
behind the bench.

Friendly faces, decades of know-how, and a workshop manager who knows your car better than you do.
